JLFC Annual Convention, Business Meeting and Formation Clinic
Greetings Formation Pilots
JLFC is holding its annual convention and formation flying clinic October 2nd thru October 5th, 2025 at the Waukesha County Airport (KUES), Waukesha Wisconsin. Arrival day is Thursday October 2nd, There will be a FAST formation groundschool for those that need it, starting at 1600. Attendance is mandatory for participants who have not attended a formal instructor taught formation recognized groundschool. Instructors should try to come earlier on Thursday for a instructor pilot standardization meeting. If there is anyone that wants to get in some formation practice early on Thursday prior to ground school, we will schedule some training sorties. Safety briefings will be conducted each Friday and Saturday morning starting at 0800.
The formation clinic base of operations will be at the "Bat Cave", a private hangar on the South East Side of the airport. Located right off of Taxiway D, just East of Foxtrot. Tell ground control that you are going to the "Bat Cave". Look for the P-51 weather vane on the roof of the Bat Cave Hangar.

All JLFC members are welcome, as well as any warbird pilot wishing to learn to safely participate in formation flying. For those of you that are new to formation flying, or are a bit rusty, please go to the FlyFast.0rg website and review the Formation Knowledge Guide and watch the RedStar formation video HERE . (Pilots seeking formation training in other non-warbird aircraft should contact the organizers before registering to confirm if you aircraft can be accommodated).
Last year the folks at Hoosier Aviation in Terre Haute Indiana (KHUF) hosted our event. They greatly contributed to the success of our event. Sadly, his year's event has had to change locations. the Terre Haute area has embraced legalized gambling and several casinos have been built around the Terre Haute area. The hotel rates have skyrocketed to an average of $450.00 a night, forcing us to move to a more affordable location. We are hoping that the fascination wears off and we once again return to Terre Haute in the future.

This should be a great event and an opportunity to get in some formation flying. There will be several Navions, Chipmunks, L-19’s and L-5’s and T-34's in attendance. It will also be a chance to catch up with old friends. If you are able to make it, please make your hotel reservations as soon as you can. Also contact me to let me know if you are coming or not so I can get a good headcount for the number of folks having dinner on Saturday night and so that I can make the van reservations for transportation.
Last item, please help spread the word. I don’t want anyone to be left out. Forward this email to anyone that you think might be interested.
